HI,
I have been giving Geswall Free a try and really like the program and how it works but it has been causing me some major problems at times. For no apparent reason my computer will crash and restart while using different applications. This is what the Windows minidump file showed after my last crash:
Crash dump directory: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump

Crash dumps are enabled on your computer.

On Sat 5/23/2009 3:00:14 PM your computer crashed
This was likely caused by the following module: geswall.sys
Bugcheck code: 0x1000007F (0x8, 0x80042000, 0x0, 0x0)
Error: UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP_M
file path: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\geswall.sys
product: GeSWall
company: GentleSecurity S.a.r.l.
description: GeSWall driver

I am running Geswall Free ver 2.8.3 with nothing set to run isolated.
I am running Online Armor ver 3.5.0.16 free with nothing set to "run safer"

Operation system is Windows XP Pro w/SP3

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

I am having similar unexpected crash (blue screen) issues on my wife's laptop computer. It is also XP Pro SP3

Also using Online Armor amd Avast! Home Edition

I have Thunderbird and Firefox both "isolated" and internet facing apps set to "Run Safer" within OA.

Update:

After removing both resident and "on demand" malware software didn't seem to do the trick, I tried lowering Avast!'s resident shield levels to "standard" from "high" while leaving GeSWall on "high" (no popups).

This seems to have kept the system from crashing for two days now.

Only programs running in realtime are GeSWall, Avast! and Online Armor. (AVG Linkscanner is loaded as well as a stand alone app.)

Keeping fingers crossed that this may solve the issue. Confused

The issue is caused by Online Armore whose driver consumes 1/3 of kernel stack memory.

You should contact Online Armor vendor for the issue report and an update. We may help in conviencing them to admit the problem.

This is strange. I am running OA pro(3.5.14), GeSWall Free(2.8.3) and Avira PE(9.0) on a Win XP pro (sp3) pc and on a Vista Home (sp1) machine for about 2 months without a single issue. I feel this has been the best security combo that I have ever used. I have GeSWall set in the middle for the security setting. (isolate known apps). I am also using Firefox 3.5b99.

Hi to all!
Im a newbie here. I want to know what are these software:
OA pro(3.5.14) and GeSWall Free(2.8.3)

I understand that Avira PE(9.0) is an antivirus... but I just run across the two later software.
